Embrace has only a few walks and workshops currently scheduled for next year but we hope to be running a lot more including plenty of free events including a “how to take photos using a Iphone” walk in January and a beginner photography walk in February (both in Ruskin Park as part of a new community project “Lost Stories of Ruskin Park”), places on these will be available to book in the next few weeks.We also now have Embrace workshop gift vouchers on sale which are a prefect Christmas present for a photography enthusiast

£20 – Getting to know your camera – Photography Walk in Brockwell Park

10am to 1pm Saturday 21st January 2012

Come and join a gentle photography walk around South London and learn how to use your camera.
This photography walk is suitable for both compact and DSLR digital cameras.
Digital camera equipment now come with a whole host of varying functions. Getting to know these will be your gateway to taking better photographs.
Two professional photographers with an expansive knowledge of cameras will assist you to get to understand these and will take you through a series exercises, in a simple and effective way.

Free How to use Lightroom photo editing software

1pm to 4:30pm Saturday 11th February 2012 Brixton, London

This is a free workshop but we are asking for people wishing to attend to pay a £10 returnable (if you attend) deposit.
Participants on this workshop will learn how to give your digital photos that extra edge using photo editing software and how to correct mistakes.
This workshop training session is limited to 6 people and will cover how to edit photos using Adobe Ligthroom software.

£30 – Fungi and Photography Walk in Abbey Wood

11:30am to 3:30pm Saturday 3rd November 2012

This photography walk / fungi foray will be set in the beautiful Lenses Abbey Wood nature reserve.
The walk will involve how to get the best out of your digital camera while also learning more about the amazing fungi present and this wonderful nature reserve in Bexley, South London.
A knowledgeable fungi guide will tell you more about the different types of fungi / mushrooms / toadstools present in the woods and give you tips on how to identify different species.
A professional photographer with an expansive knowledge of cameras will assist you to get to understand how to get the best from your camera & will take you through a series of exercises, in a simple effective way.
Our photography tutor will give tips on how to take photos of the fungi found on the walk to enable you to record them in all their glory.
